Character Name: Yashiro Isana/Adolf K. Weismann
Series: K: Return of Kings
Canon Point: Episode 12
Summary/History:
Yashiro on the K wiki
Personality:
Yashiro balances a very strange line between utterly complex and incredibly simple. Much of this is the result of the past several weeks of his life being anything but normal, but it's heavily implied that even before he became the vessels to the Colorless King and Weismann there wasn't much different about the way he is now.
As Yashiro, he's very laid back, easy going and incredibly charismatic. So much so that he makes friends easily, even if he's never particularly close to any one person. People find it difficult to dislike him, even when he's doing things like mooching off of other student's lunches and being a bit of a pest. He acts like a goof, preferring the class clown route over any sort of seriousness. He prefers to be called "Shiro", forgoing any sense of formality with anyone he becomes even remotely familiar with, and it's rare to hear him use proper honorifics, especially with those he considers friends. Regardless of the fact that he isn't particularly close to any one person, he's still very kind, and very open about his emotions and feelings with others. Even if he's hiding pain behind a smile, it's clear what his true feelings are.
Because of all this though he gets along with just about everyone. It's only the ones that mistakenly want him dead for something he didn't do (well, something inhabiting his body did) that he can't seem to catch a break with.
But that's just how it is with people who really really want your head on a platter.
That's not entirely true, though. There was one he was able to convince. His charisma, coupled with surprising tactical knowledge and a quick wit hidden under his goofy exterior managed to first trick Kuroh Yatagami who had been sent after him by the previous Colorless King, and then later convince him to get him the time needed to prove his innocence in the murder of a HOMURA clansman. Even after Shiro's own confidence began to waiver, Kuroh had become enamored enough by the younger teen that he stayed at his side and promised to protect him no matter what.
Shiro is also surprisingly loyal, and beyond that devoted to protecting people he cares for, or even people he simply sees as innocent and have no need to be caught up in violent acts. He returned to a dangerous situation where he was massively out numbered and over powered, using cunning and trickery in order to save Kuroh in spite knowing that if his innocence wasn't proven Kuroh would still kill him. And even further than that, he returned to Ashinaka High School after it had been overrun by HOMURA members, willingly putting his own life in danger in order to rescue a student body who had absolutely no memory of who he was. He considered them friends and wanted to see them all safe.
A lot of this blends in to the original aspects of Adolf K. Weismann, the person who Shiro was before he was forced out of his body by the Colorless King. In his youth, Adolf was a lot like Shiro - intelligent, charismatic, a bit goofy and somewhat carefree as well as incredibly optimistic. He was friendly with most everyone, including officers that were often exasperated with his wide-eyed optimism and carefree attitude during war time. In fact it was his opposition to war (and desire to not use the Dresden Slate as a weapon) that had spurred on his research, and it upset him greatly that no one else seemed capable of understanding that what he was looking for was to give happiness to all.
He managed to make friends with the otherwise gruff and serious Lieutenant Kokujyoji (who later became the Second and Gold King), and was especially close to his older sister Claudia even though she was often equally exasperated by her brother's antics and candid way of speaking.
However it was this closeness coupled with his aversion to violence that turned Adolf in to the man he was before the Colorless King got a hold of him. His sister's death during a bomb raid that he survived thanks to his own power jaded the once optimistic young man, and with this he turned away from the world at large, refusing to have any more involvement in anything even though his status as the Silver King could have given him reign over all. He left the world and took to the sky after bidding Kokujyoji farewell, going up in an airship where he could mourn the sad, painful effects of war alone.
Surprisingly, after the destructive events of the original series, it's Daikaku who keeps Shiro from returning to the surface world this time around. With the Green Clan ramping up their efforts to not only take the Slates but release their power throughout the entire world uncontrollably, Daikaku knew that they would be hunting for Shiro in order to remove him from the picture entirely.
Unfortunately Daikaku was also reaching the end of his life, and though his passing greatly saddened Shiro he used it as a reason to resolve his previous issues with remaining hands off as a King and returned just in time to save his clansmen from death at the hands of the Green Clan. No longer wishing to be cowardly and passive he entered in to a partnership with the Blue and Red clans in order to stop the Green Clan's plot to gain the Slates.
Of course the problem with joining a fight so late in the game, after 70 years of utter avoidance of the entire world, means that even a strategical genius like Shiro can fail, and fail he did. Unlike before though his failure spurred on even more resolve to fix his mistakes, and he buckled down on intense research in order to find a way to put an end to the Slates completely, even though he knew deep down that doing so would likely end his existence within the body of the young man his spirit had taken over.
Much of Shiro/young Adolf is still within him, even after 90+ years of existence, but it's clear by this point in the series that he is frustrated with how things have turned out. Daikaku made an ideal world with the Slates, but so many people want to bring the world in to something chaotic and terrible - a fate that Adolf wanted so much to avoided especially after the destruction the war during his youth caused.
But his sense of humor remains, his desire to do good overrides his cowardice and want to hide from everything terrible, and even though he is a King he prefers to maintain a much less formal relationship with the people he considers clansmen and even the friends he's made outside of his own clan.
Oh. And he can actually be pretty badass when the moment arises. A parasol is a surprisingly useful weapon when you can imbue it with aura!
Powers/Abilities:
Silver Aura
As the Silver King, Shiro's Aura is the silver/white colored aura that allows him to manipulate gravity. He is capable of levitating himself along with creating shields of protection around himself and the ability to fly across great distances. He can also offer a temporary "link" with his power to allow other people to do the same. He calls this creating a "temporary" clansman, but he also has the ability to make permanent clansman, granted that their power is capable of working with his. It has to be done through touch of some sort, though, even if it's an indirect connection like some one holding a sword and touching it to him or his shielding.
This doesn't make previous powers null, though, and some can even be enhanced by this connection.
Inviolability
Not quite immortality, not quite invulnerability. Though he is immune to illness, does not age and will never pass away from natural causes, heals from injuries almost instantly he can still be physically destroyed. However Inviolability means that even if he is destroyed down to a sub-atomic level he will eventually reform in to the body he was in last. It takes some time to do this and he will take weeks to recover completely, usually in a stasis-like state until he is capable of waking again. It also means that physical attacks on his person are deflected. The only reason the explosion "killed" Adolf's original body was because the Colorless King had been ejected from it at the same time - the body itself was left without a scratch and capable of being preserved.
Intelligence/Strategist
Adolf's mind seems to work at an incredibly fast pace, calculating in the most efficient way possible. He is an exceptional leader, as well as an analytical, scientific and and tactical genius. He is capable of processing many streams of information quickly, and use it to the advantage of himself and his comrades. He creates winning strategies in situations both spontaneous and drawn out. He seems to possess a perfect memory as well, able to recall phrases and quotes from 80 years ago. Through study he can gather, retain and recite mass amounts of information with no strain to his mind, and naturally uses it all to aid in his position as the Silver King.
Battle
He has no formal (or even informal) battle training, but because of his aura he's capable of deflecting hits and shots, and has even used his parasol to keep others from being struck by attacks.
